Ακολουθούν Ελληνικά Hey guys, This is about the next stage of our Burning Man <http://burningman.org/> arts grant application. The idea is that we produce a public, open to all, and openly managed maker-space with tools (for cutting, soldering, hacking and re-using of all sorts of junk) and events on (re)making, hardware freedom, freedom in general, and most definitely some serious partying. We visualise this as a haven for techies, artists, and idlers of all sorts, coming to share tools and resources and to learn from each other. We are imagining the maker-space as an open-air platform, an interactive installation in itself, as well as a public art-work and a social sculpture that is created by, but also creates, a community. We see this as especially meaningful at a time when a lot of people are driven to innovation, or to creative madness, out of sheer need. The idea is to use the funds offered by Burning Man to construct this platform and gather equipment that will allow for tech projects and art-pieces to come together out of junk. We welcome individuals, communities, and organisations, to join us as participants, sponsors, partners, or something different, fully or partly. So far, our team is made up by members of the hack66 community and the Lefkosia Hackerspace, and we have the support of the ARTos Foundation, Re Aphrodite, and Bank of Commons, and we have been offered a space on the Nicosia Buffer Zone by H4C. The project is written on the principles of openness, freedom, transparency, and collaboration, and runs on do-ocracy and modified consensus. And you know what, it’s going to be a fun ride! The important thing is that we need your input to pull this off. We’ve put together a Loomio group, to make the project transparent, to crowd-source its development, to bring together the different ideas, and to welcome your input. Η ιδέα είναι να στήσουμε μια δημόσια, ανοικτή σε όλους, διαυγή, και ανοικτά διαχειριζόμενη πλατφόρμα (maker-space / (re)maker-space) με εργαλεία (για κοπή, συγκόλληση, recycled hardware hacking, κ.α.) και για events που αφορούν την πρακτική δημιουργία, την ελευθερία του hardware, την ελευθερία γενικότερα, και--φυσικά-- κάμποσο υγιές partying! To βλέπουμε ως ένα καταφύγιο για techies, κατασκευαστές, εφευρέτες, καλλιτέχνες, και.. αθκιασερούς όλων των ειδών, που έρχονται να μοιραστούν εργαλεία και πόρους, και να μάθουν ο ένας από τον άλλο. Το βλέπουμε ως μια durational διαδραστική εγκατάσταση, ως έργο δημόσιας τέχνης, και κοινωνικής γλυπτικής που παράγει και παράγεται από κοινότητα. Ως μια συλλογική προσπάθεια που έχει ιδιαίτερο νόημα αυτή την περίοδο που πολλοί από μας οδηγούνται στην καινοτομία, ή στη δημιουργική τρέλα, από ανάγκη. Η ιδέα είναι να χρησιμοποιήσουμε τη χορηγία του Burning Man για να συγκεντρώσουμε εξοπλισμό που θα επιτρέψει έργα τεχνολογίας και τέχνης να στηθούν από υλικά μαζεμένα από junkyards. Προσκαλούμε άτομα, κοινότητες, και οργανισμούς να κοπιάσουν ως συμμετέχοντες, χορηγοί, συνεταίροι, ή κάτι άλλο, πλήρως ή μερικώς. Μέχρι τώρα η ομάδα μας συμπεριλαμβάνει μέλη του hack66 και του Lefkosia Hackerspace, και έχουμε τη συμπαράσταση του Ιδρύμα ΆΡΤος, του Ρε Αφροδίτη, και του Bank of Commons, ενώ μας έχει προσφερθεί χώρος στη Πράσινη Γραμμή της Λευκωσίας από το H4C.
