Guys, The Limassol Hackerspace (in the works) are having their first AFK meeting tomorrow evening. They're already up to such exciting things. Check this: On Sunday, July 20, 2014 1:25:13 PM UTC+3, Panayiotis wrote:
Hi George,
Welcome to the community!
**Excellent** idea. Once we have the physical space set up we could have a PC/RasPi always on, where which people can go and quickly search for available items to (re)use in their projects or for available equipment! (in a similar fashion to a library reception PC where you can check the availability of a certain book)
You can reply to the "projects" post (link <https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en-GB#!topic/limassol-hackerspace/xR7V3XVlWMA>) with your idea and also make a separate post explaining it - so that people interested in contributing can share their ideas and form a team to get this started! You should also make a new page in the wiki in the planned/active projects section <http://wiki.limassolhackerspace.org/doku.php/projects/active>. Let me know if you need any help with the wiki syntax/page creation.
A thing I forgot to mention, is that we already have GitHub repository ( link <https://github.com/limassolhackerspace>). The project could be maintained there so that other hackerspaces can use or fork it! (in the case that there will also be any code written)
Hope to see you in the AFK tomorrow!

Hi,
We can create an "Inventory Database" which will store the list of the equipment (donated, purchased). This way it will be easier for us to know what we have available and thus new ideas to arise.
The creation of the DB is by itself a project :). We can put it online, we can share the project with other "Hackerspaces" around the world.
