On behalf of the Burning Man Arts and the 2015 Global Art Grant Committee,
I would like to thank you for submitting a Letter of Inquiry for our 2015
grant cycle. The committee is interested in your project, and would like to
extend the invitation to submit a full proposal.
Your next steps:
1. Read further instructions and an example of our online application,
here: https://burningman.org/?p=38614
In our online application, you will have the opportunity to tell us
about your project, its goals, audience and interactive potential.
2. We recommend you write your proposal in a Word or other text document,
and cut and paste your answers into the online application form when ready.
4. When ready, fill out your online application at
https://burningmanarts.slideroom.com/#/permalink/program/24396/mJwMiWtC3H
5. Your invitation code is: GA_Invited_2015_278
There is a $5.00 fee to submit your proposal. The entirety of this fee
is payment to Slideroom.com, the online application service we use.
You will be asked to pay with a credit card upon completion of the
proposal.
A complete proposal includes:
o The completion of the online proposal through Slideroom.com. We do not
accept proposals submitted any other way (such as by mail).
o A timeline. Our online application has a format you may use, or you may
create a timeline as a separate document and upload it as part of the
online application.
o A budget. A detailed budget is required as part of your proposal. We
require you use our budget template. You will find our budget template
available for download on the example grant application webpage (
https://burningman.org/?p=38614)
o Any supplemental media you wish to include. Follow the submission
instructions in the application. We recommend you submit visual
representations of your proposed project.
Grant Timeline
o Proposals are due February 1, 2015. No exceptions. Please note that as
February 1 falls on a Sunday this year you may not be able to get
assistance from Burning Man Arts or from Slidroom.com on that day. Please
plan ahead.
o You will be notified whether or not you have been selected to receive a
grant in mid to late March, 2015.
o Funds are released and grantees are announced to the public beginning
April 1, 2014
You may contact me with any questions about our application process.
However, our office will be closed from December 24, 2013, reopening
January 2, 2014. I will have limited access to email while the office is
closed.
Best of luck with your project and your proposal!

Sharing for those of you not on Facebook - phone numbers for further
communications included:
1.
I nominate myself for the post of Chief Communications Officer.
2.
Today's communications:
We have a whole lot of drinks left over from the Hardware Party (unless
someone drunk it all / forgot to put some in the fridge, both of which are
strong possibilities).
I suggest we meet at the hackerspace after the Space Exploration
Organisation event <https://www.facebook.com/events/639675696144420/>
(linked below, so say between 8-9?), which it'd be good if some of us went
to since we're thinking of working with them to organise Space Apps 2015!
(I've got a work thing so I can't go, but I think Costas will).
My personal plan is to catch up with y'all around 9-9:30 where-ever (my
number is 99586369)
Constantinos has the key, but there's something going on with his phone
(99606547) so be prepared for some analogue turbulence :D
3.
N.S. is back on the island / aboard the spacecraft so some moderate
partying is order..
Uhura out
tl;dr We can produce quality written content. Can we publish the Volume 1 of our magazine on January 18th?
Hi all,
I am amazed by the momentum projects we had proposed before bring to hack66 (e.g. Functional Hardware Exchange Party!).
Opening this thread to discuss our communal magazine.
Why on 18/1?
hack66 was seeded on 18/6/2013. On 18/1 we are celebrating one year and a half. Plus:
66 / 18 = 3.666666...
18 / 66 = 0.272727...
Format: Plain text.
Distribution: Published at our wiki and shared via emails and torrents.
Citations: [0]
Language: English, Greek, Turkish.
Collaborative articles: We can use http://pad.hack66.info/ for that.
Guest articles: From other hackerspaces and groups.
Topics: Up to you, ideally our projects.
See you on January 14 :)
Cheers
